7 month Old Ginger Kid

My son has red hair which proves he is Irish! Well it's actually like a redish-brownish-blond. It looks really red in the sunlight. Here are some recent pictures. He turned 7 months on December 19th. No weight or height update. We do not go back to the doctor until January for an 8 month appointment. Maybe he will talk with an Irish accent and love cornbeef and cabbage.

I am disturbed and disheartened by the recent debacle concerning the Texas Tech Football coach Michael Leach and student/player Adam James.

Let me first state the following... Concussions are very serious injuries. If a football player, or anyone else for that matter, is suffering from a concussion, their first and main concern should be for their health and wellness. No one should be punished for this.

Secondly, I do not condone in any matter abusive behavior that will physically or mentally harm an individual.

With that being said, I think that Adam Jones is a BIG BABY who's only injury in the whole manner is a bruised EGO. Instead of respectfully swallowing his pride and growing up a little he had to run to his mommy and daddy, who conveniently cascaded all over-exaggerated events to the national media.

Mike Leach has done a lot for TTU football, and hopefully these events will not extinguish this future with the organization.

... and what lesson did student/player Adam Jones learn from this... NOTHING! In the real world daddy wont be able to fix everything. It was only a closet. If he didn't want to be in there, he should have just left.

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 is officially over. We had the BEST time with the family (Phelan side). They treated us to great dinners and spoiled us with a lot of wonderful presents! We had a really nice holiday!

We hope everyone had a wonderful day! Especially the Boelter's who were missed!!!!!!

As for your questions...

No, Joey is not crawling. Big Joey and I saw him take 2 steps a couple of days ago on his knees, but no progress since... I'll keep you posted!

He is saying ma-ma, da-da, and ba-ba and can sit up by him self!

Key West

On December 18th, we drove down to mile marker 1 to Key West for a little Christmas vacation and R&R. We stayed 5 nights and even we had a fabulous time!!! Key West is a very cool town! We enjoyed the food, beach, and of course Duval Street!

New BFF's

We had a very nice weekend. Joey was in the Bahamas until Saturday evening. Friday, Joey and I spent the night at grandma and grandpa's house. Saturday, Joey and Joey got some quality dad and son time. He really missed his daddy!

The new trick of the week is Joey getting up on all fours. Here he is watching his baby moves video and showing off his new found talents. It will be a matter of weeks before he is crawling ... heck, maybe even days...

Not only is he trying to crawl, I was up 3 times last night wiping tears and rocking baby joey to sleep. This morning his bottom tooth has made some progress. Maybe he will have a tooth for Christmas!

You probably assumed that the title of "New BFF's" was referring to Joey and his Dad, but no, Joey's new best friend is the cute boy in the window... aka his reflection.

That boy in the window is really cute! Can you blame him for wanting to be his friend?
